Barack Obama is probably a decent fellow. So it makes it unfortunate that I have to say, time and again, that he is weak, ignorant, naive and gullible. One can only surmise that the man is patently clueless when it comes to human nature. While Iran has stated that it wants to pursue nuclear power, it has similarly said that it is entitled to the bomb. North Korea and every other state that has eventually obtained nukes has started with the cliched, “it’s for power”… what we never seem to get is what kind of power they’re talking about. In the case of North Korea, that power wasn’t of the electrical type… it was of the extortion type. The case is for certain similar where it concerns Iran.
LONDON — President Barack Obama suggested that Iran may have some right to nuclear energy _ provided it proves by the end of the year that its aspirations are peaceful.
In a BBC interview broadcast Tuesday, he also restated plans to pursue direct diplomacy with Tehran to encourage it set aside any ambitions for nuclear weapons it might harbor.
Oh, I feel better… he’s going to “encourage” Ahmadinejad to set aside ambitions for nukes. Ahmadinejad has shown a real propensity for reason and compassion in the past, hasn’t he?
Iran has insisted its nuclear program is aimed at generating electricity. But the U.S. and other Western governments accuse Tehran of seeking atomic weapons.
“What I do believe is that Iran has legitimate energy concerns, legitimate aspirations,” Obama said, adding that the international community also “has a very real interest” in preventing a nuclear arms race.
The president has indicated a willingness to seek deeper international sanctions against Tehran if it does not respond positively to U.S. attempts to open negotiations on its nuclear program. Obama has said Tehran has until the end of the year to show it wants to engage with Washington.
“Although I don’t want to put artificial time tables on that process, we do want to make sure that, by the end of this year, we’ve actually seen a serious process move forward. And I think that we can measure whether or not the Iranians are serious,” Obama said.
Sanctions? Oh yeah, now there’s a real threat. He doesn’t want to put artificial time tables on the process? Hello, Mr. Obama, there is a very real time table at play here, sir. When they have the bomb and an ability to deliver it, your options become few… but then I think you know that, and that’s what frightens me. Barack Obama seems to be saying to Iran, “Hurry up!” It makes his ability to throw up his hands and say, “Awwww well,” that much easier when Iran has the bomb.
“What we want to do is open a dialogue,” Obama told the BBC. “You know, there are misapprehensions about the West, on the part of the Muslim world. And, obviously, there are some big misapprehensions about the Muslim world when it comes to those of us in the West.”
Oh, here we go again. While the Muslim world has misapprehensions about the West, we in the West have “big” misapprehensions about the Muslim world. See, we’re just misguided racists over here. Guys like Ahmadinejad are human beings too and well, human beings are all wonderful at heart. Just ignore Ahmadinejad’s calls for the destruction of Israel and denials of the Holocaust. He’s simply misunderstood.
Barack Obama has shown an ability to recklessly abandon reality and reason when it comes to his world perspective. It seems America can do nothing right, sees nothing for what it is, and owes the whole of the world an apology. At the same time, hateful, miserable, petty despots of the world are held up as “legitimate”.
Congratulations America, we elected ourselves a guy that wants to put this country second, third or fourth behind the likes of Iran, North Korea and Venezuela. In this crazy pseudo reality, our ally Israel is the nation deemed illegitimate. Madness. Obama’s commitment seems to be rooted in reining in Israel while allowing Iran to run amok.
Obama sounded an optimistic note about making progress toward resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, although he offered no new ideas for how he might try to secure a freeze on new building of Israeli settlements. The United States has called for a freeze, but Israeli leaders have rejected that.
Uhmmm Barry, Israel isn’t stopping. Israel is running war drills at this very moment. Mr. President, I implore you to please, get a clue.
