Well, it may be all for naught, but I voted today. I was in line at 6:45 with the wife and the girl (voting for the first time ever… proud moment). There were probably 100 people in line at that time, which showed that maybe it isn’t just cities that are eager to cast a ballot. In addition to the presidential contest, we voted for several state amendments and propositions. Why must they always try to “fool” people by wording ballot items like that in such a nebulous way? It’s really dishonest.
It seems we’ll likely know around 7PM this evening who it is that will be our next president. I know, the media has been telling you this is over for weeks now, but this time it’s for real. Either way it goes, this country is facing down some very hard times. Which of these men is more qualified to deal with these issues? I think I’ve made my personal preference clear. This country has been controlled by the Democrats at various times in its history. Was it any better then, than it was when the Republicans held the reins? No. So, it seems logical to want checks and balances. McCain is the only way to achieve that, especially given the state of the Congress and its likely turn to the left. Unfortunately, we seem doomed to repeat history time and time again. In our zeal to make Bush pay, we are forgetting to impart reason in our decision making. I did not abandon rational thought in a quest for revenge. America is a center/right country where it concerns its values and its politics. How do we respect that by voting in a guy that is way to the left? I just don’t get it. Barack Obama is not ready to be the President. Hillary knew it, Biden knew it and I know it. We’ll just have to see how wrong for America he turns out to be if he should win. I hope it’s not a terrible price to pay. Any time you abandon your principles in order to dish out some payback, it’s likely a bad idea. But hey, what do I know?

I voted for McCain tonight and the first question I was asked by a coworker was this:
“Did you not vote for Obama because he’s black?”
I was insulted and disgusted, but then I began to understand that Obama will win this race and he can thank reverse racism for the victory. If he was white, his limited experience and questionable relationships would have been under heavy scrutiny. Sad.

Oh yeah. Any white candidate that was a member of a church that preached hatred of this country would have been toast. Of course when the media is telling you, “Well, this is the black experience,” making excuses for it as they “report” it… you see how far the collusion went. Barack Obama is an empty suit… so rather than evolving beyond the Bush presidency… WE’VE DECIDED TO EXPAND ON IT. They voted in a new moron.
