‘Lost’ premier finds some of the prior magic

I’ve been on the fence with ‘Lost’, you can’t help but think after three seasons that the writers have gone out of their way to throw the entire kitchen sink of “fictional” tricks into this one series.  Make no mistake, for all of the talk of a definitive storyline, a lot of this stuff just has to be off the cuff, “you know what would be great,” filler.  For a long time there were too few answers and too many new questions raised.  Tonight it seemed to me at least… that they might finally be getting around to the point of the show.

I loved the way this episode jumped between Hugo in the nut house and where the story left off at the end of season 3.  That’s the kind of quirky storytelling that made ‘Lost’ so interesting for the first two seasons.  Sure it can become frustrating, but as this is the downhill glide to the end for the series, I’d imagine things will progress at a brisker pace now.

It’s great to have ‘Lost’ back again!
