Michelle Obama wasn’t proud of her country?

What the hell was Michelle Obama thinking when she said, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback… not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”  This might be amongst the stupidest things to come out of a spouse’s mouth since Clinton uttered the words, “fairytale” and “give me a break”.  What did this woman think people would make of a comment like that?

I have to tell you that I have been disgusted by a lot of things that POLITICIANS have done in the recent past.  What I haven’t done is equate their actions with this country as a whole.  We are a good and decent people.  We give a damn about the world, even if those that represent us seemingly do not.  How dare this woman paint with such a broad brush.  Has she been asleep for the last 30 years?  She said that this renewed sense of pride has nothing to do with the fact that Barack is running, no it’s because, “…hope is making a comeback…”  Bill Clinton ran as the man from Hope!  She said, “…I think people are hungry for change.”  Really Mrs. Obama, people are ready for change?  Maybe you didn’t get the memo, every politican says it’s about change.  People always say, “I voted for change.”  The facts are it rarely comes.

How is a guy that has no track record going to bring about change?  Where I come from change takes work.  Change takes commitment.  Change takes conviction.  Is voting “present” in the hopes that you have no track record for people to reflect on ADMIRABLE?  Are you kidding me?

Cindy McCain took her shot at Michelle’s comment saying as she introduced her husband last night, “I am proud of my country. I don’t know about you, if you heard those words earlier — I am very proud of my country.”  We know you are Cindy, and we know your husband is.  The disaster that is the world is not, “America’s” fault… as much as Democrats like to spin it that way.  I suppose that’s the reason for my recent change of heart.  Between Obama’s calculated approach to change, which seems to be couched in “take no stand”, and the need of these people to blame our country for EVERYTHING… I’ve just had enough.

Change, right… some change.  More of the “blame America” attitude from the spouse of the guy that is supposedly bringing us this “new concept” called change.  Give me a break!
