It appears that the writers strike is making for all kinds of programming adjustments for the networks. NBC announced that it will be tossing a lot of “reality” shows onto the air in the coming months, and now there is word that CBS will be tapping its Showtime premium cable service for some content. The first series that will be appearing on CBS is ‘Dexter’, which is the story of a forensics expert with the Miami PD who also happens to be a serial killer. There is a lot of gruesome violence, sexual content and language in the show, so it’s going to have to be edited like mad. I can only imagine what the show will end up looking like when network censors get done with it. Still, the series is great and even a watered down ‘Dexter’ is better than most of what’s on commercial television.
I just wish the writers strike would hurry up and end. There is only so much material fit for network rehashing, and already shows are being pushed back months because of what’s been going on. Season 2 of ‘Dexter’ ends on Showtime this Sunday, and it could be a year or more before Season 3 airs with the way this strike is going!Â

In an article that will be published in the Sunday Times Mike Huckabee asks, “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?” He asks the question as if he doesn’t know the answer. Of course he knows the answer. Good “Baptists” are forever combating the views of the Latter Day Saints and I find it unbelievable that a pastor would not have known with a certainty the answer to that question. Isn’t it a lie to pretend that you don’t know the answer to a question you’re asking? Why not be bold? Why not just come out and state the fact rather than backdooring it? I can hardly wait for Mike to sheepishly ask, “What is it with the magic underpants?”
You want to be the President of the United States, Mike. If you want to say something, say it. Don’t hide a statement within a question. It shows weakness. It shows a lack of testicular fortitude. If you think that the LDS is a false religion, SAY IT. If you think that it’s an abomination, SAY IT. If you can’t muster the guts to take on MORMONS, how the hell can I believe that you’ll have the strength of character to take on the radicals within Islam? Maybe you can ask a reporter, “Hey, aren’t those the guys that want to blow us up?”
