Dogged is a word that can be associated with Nancy Grace. Unfortunately, shameless is also a term I would use to describe her. Often confrontational with her guests, she took it upon herself to interrogate the mother of a missing 2 yr. old child on her show. The day after the “interview”, the woman shot herself to death. Whether or not the mother was being evasive and whether or not the mother is somehow involved in the disappearance I do not know. What I do know is that the sensationalization of cases like these and the court proceedings that may or may not follow makes a mockery of our system. I hope that Nancy Grace feels some sort of accomplishment for her part in this, because I’m sure as hell that she isn’t feeling a bit of remorse. I have often commented that her show makes me want to shoot myself. Apparently, I was not alone.

I know I can often be verbose, but all I have to say on this one is, “What took the bitch so long?!”

Who could have seen this coming? *snickers*Â Not that it’s a sure thing yet… but money has always been an issue for this company.
I used to listen to Air America Radio, (I needed an alternative considering I’m a bitter conservative). I wanted to hear if there were any ideas coming from the “left” that made sense and could counter the craziness that so called conservatives in power were engaged in. I thought Air America Radio might provide me an opportunity to hear what the alternatives were.Â
I listened for many months, and some of the shows on the station(s) were actually pretty good, but most of them were really bad. Al Franken while being articulate is just boring. Randi Rhodes is entertaining, well she was, before she became very bitter. Even with her shrill delivery you have to appreciate the passion and she had a good handle on the facts. Unfortunately as Democratic loses mounted she became less and less stable and a lot less coherent. You don’t have to take an hour of my life saying the same thing over and over again, I get it and I got it! The rest of the line-up was largely unknown and probably rightly so.
Since its inception AAR has suffered from financial woes. In 2005 they tried to make some fast cash but the way they did it was laughable. First, they decided to hit the two satellite broadcasters up for cash. While XM coughed up some dough, Sirius passed. I used to listen on Sirius, so they were down one listener. You have to respect that a company is going to do what it must to keep themselves afloat but you can’t help but laugh because after Howard Stern moved to Sirius, XM has never been the same. AAR is basically on a sinking ship on terrestrial and sattelite radio. The next way they tried to make money was by selling a kind of fan club to their listeners in which you paid for stickers and a tote bag to help advertise. Now I don’t know about you folks but every radio station I have ever had dealings with has given away stickers, shirts and bags for FREE.
It’s obvious that the people in charge of Air America are clueless. They can’t cultivate talent that draws listeners, which makes it impossible to charge high rates to advertisers (or even get advertisers) and they can’t come up with a way to market their product that even makes anybody aware of it. It’s really very sad. Just like we need checks and balances in government (something we don’t have today), we need it in the press and media. Air America Radio has failed to offer a worthy alternative to Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest of the lemmings and that’s very sad.
