Finally – The Evidence I Need To Support My, “It’s Not You, It’s Me” Argument.
While I hate to support useless studies, orchestrated by institutions with entirely too much money and too little common sense- I have to make an exception. You see, there was a recent study by the learned folks at Singapore Management University and the London School of Economics and Political Science that determined smart people require more time alone to truly be happy. Per an article on the study:
The study found that more intelligent people actually had lower life satisfaction the more frequently they socialised with friends – spending time with friends actually made them unhappy.
Now, I have often been accused of being an anti-social bastard, (even though – I am fantastic socially) and have always said quite plainly that it has nothing to do with whether or not I like the people I am going to be hanging around with, it’s just my nature. Finally, after three decades of being colored a prick, I have this wonderful study to point to as evidence that this is all just a symptom of my superior intellect. So the next time you hear me hem and haw about an evening out – don’t take it personally, I likely love you… I just don’t want to hang out with you. LOL.
